Auricular Acupuncture

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

Auricular acupuncture is a diagnostic and treatment system based on normalizing the body's dysfunction through stimulation of points on the ear.

There are intimate interrelationships between the ear and the channels/ meridians of the body. Meridians are paths through which the life-energy known as "qi" flows. There are also close relations between the ear and internal organs ( known as zang fu organs).

According to "Nei Jing" (literature of Internal Classic of Medicine), the ear links to the five-zang (internal organs of heart, liver, spleen, lung & kidney) physiologically. Additionally the "Li Zheng An Mo Yao Shu" (literature in The Extensive Techniques of Massage) indicates that the back of the ear, is divided into five parts, that also corresponded to the five-zang organs.

Auricular acupuncture may be used to treat painful disorder, such as sprains, headache and neuropathic pains, as well as functional disorders and allergic diseases, such as dizziness, hypertension, arrhythmia, stress, depression, asthma, etc. and much more. It may also be used to treat endocrinal and metabolic disorders, such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, diabetes, obesity and menopausal symptoms, as well as the conditions of beauty therapy, smoking and drug addictions, anti-aging and disease prevention.
