Meet Jackelyn Hurtado - Manual Osteopathic Practitioner

Jackelyn’s passion for both science and helping people has been the guiding force in her life for as long as she can remember. These two loves naturally led her to pursue a fulfilling career as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, where she could blend her intellectual curiosity with her deep desire to support others in their health and well-being.

The journey wasn’t easy. Osteopathy is a rigorous field requiring dedication, precision, and an understanding of the body’s complex systems. But Jackelyn thrived in her training, emerging as a top student both academically and practically. Her skill and compassion made her a favorite in the school’s student clinic, where she developed a reputation for truly understanding each patient’s unique needs. Her 1,000-hour internship solidified her commitment to addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction, helping her gain invaluable insight into treating acute and chronic conditions. After graduating, Jackelyn’s expertise earned her a position as a teacher’s assistant, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and care.

For the past eight years, Jackelyn has built a successful career in osteopathy, continuously enhancing her skills with advanced training in areas such as:
- TMJD Advanced Training in Functional - Neuromuscular Activation Therapy
- Craniosacral Therapy
- Cupping & Guasha
- Low Intensity Laser Therapy
- Treating the Obstetrical Patient
- Pediatric Osteopathy
- Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR)
- Reiki

Jackelyn understands that healing is never "one-size-fits-all." She believes in the importance of combining various modalities because every patient is unique. Her approach is grounded in the philosophy that the body is a self-healing, functional unit where all systems are interconnected. Whether it’s chronic pain, postural imbalances, or pregnancy-related issues, Jackelyn is committed to identifying the root cause and helping her patients regain their quality of life. She also ensures that her patients leave with personalized recommendations and an exercise plan to continue their progress at home.

Currently in her third year of an Advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) program, Jackelyn is excited about her vision of integrating acupuncture with osteopathy. She plans to offer holistic treatments that combine both modalities, and she’s also passionate about providing patients with herbal remedies for home care, extending the healing process beyond the treatment room.

Jackelyn’s practice is expanding beyond just human patients—her love for animals has sparked an interest in animal osteopathy and Reiki, and she is currently enrolled in an Animal Osteopathy program. With a warm heart and sharp skillset, she’s eager to bring the same care and dedication to helping animals heal and thrive.

In addition to her hands-on work, Jackelyn enjoys teaching and spreading the knowledge of osteopathy. In her free time, she loves reading, listening to uplifting and scientific podcasts, and spending time with her cherished fur babies. Her dedication to her craft and her genuine love for what she does shines through in every aspect of her life. Jackelyn doesn’t just work in osteopathy, she lives it.

Incorporating essential oils into cupping therapy or an osteopathic treatment can enhance results by supporting relaxation, reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and calming the nervous system. When applied before cupping or alongside manual therapy, oils penetrate the skin and help prepare muscles, joints, and fascia for deeper release, making treatments more effective for conditions like muscular pain, nerve pain, indigestion, inflammation, and varicose veins.
